Anonymous asked:what do you mean by not understanding how the justice system works? are you supporting the post or not???
I’m not on either side. These kinds of situations suck but I’m not confident enough in the information I have to accurately stand with a side. In every single one of these cases there is more information than either side will tell you. Liberal media withheld and doctored information that would make Trayvon look bad and Zimmerman look good. Conservative media did the same thing in reverse. Same thing happened with the Mike Brown case. There were people out marching in the street and rioting both times before we even got autopsy reports back.
The post was dumb because it’s just more biased race baiting. It’s not an open shut murder case because there was evidence in both cases that it may have been in self-defense. I know that, you know that and the person who made the post knows that. Now I’m not here to say whether it was or wasn’t self-defense or whether this is all racially motivated.
It’s just always kinda boggled the mind that people on the other side of the U.S. or hell even the world sitting at home on their blog think they know as much or more than the judges, lawyers, jury and investigators in all of these cases and start spreading misinformation around causing things to get even more screwed up than they already are.
The thing that’s so disgusting about the murders of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Sean Bell etc (a very long list) is that it’s not like we’re trying to figure out who killed them. We know perfectly well. We’re just trying to figure out if that black kid deserved to die. Their humanity is put on trial, like being a person wasn’t enough. Black people literally have to prove that we’re worthy of living.
Are we just pretending we don’t understand how the justice system works or something?
